Behind the Lace Curtains-Friday Felines

The year 2014/2015 was a sad one here at The Cottage.  On August 1, 2014, we had to help our Princess Shorty to Rainbow Bridge as she was suffering from cancer.  Two weeks and a day later, on August 16, 2014, we lost our Little Price Smokey to a stroke.  On Christmas Day 2014, The Court Jester Pippie succumbed to cancer at home, and the Queen, Mackie, passed away at the age of 17 on March 12, 2015 also at home in her beloved cat bed, snuggled in an old pair of my pajamas.  I was devastated.  That left poor Skinny, the Pharaoh, all by herself as being the only girl.

Skinny has some Siamese in her, and you can tell by her yowl.  She's very demanding, needs attention and companionship.  She didn't want anything to do with the other boy cats, Buddy and Tux, and she was so lonely.  So, we adopted the cutest tuxedo kitten from a friend whose cat had a litter.  She was the only girl in the litter, and I knew right away I fell in love with the adorable kitten in the picture.  We named her Lady Jacqueline Josephine, after the First Lady and my grandmother, and it wasn't long that the tiny little addition to the family grew bigger than Skinny!  She was just what Skinny needed-no more howling because she was lonely!

Jackie is a very smart cat, and grew to be a big cat.  I knew she would be big, because her paws were big even as a kitten.  And she loves to cuddle and be held!

It took a little while to train her.  She started out as a curtain climber, but that was cured after she weighed too much for anything to hold her.  She can be stubborn, too, but always adorable!

Our silly girl, Lady Jacqueline Josephine.
